CAFIVERDE: Our 2025 Reforestation Day in Villas Pico, Veracruz

At CAFIVER we believe that caring for the environment is built through constant action. This year, in our annual reforestation day, we planted 2,400 Oyamel fir trees in Villas Pico, in the municipality of La Perla, Veracruz, once again exceeding our goal and breaking last year's record of 1,200 trees. This effort represents our commitment to leaving a positive mark on the environment and strengthening ties with the community.

About the Oyamel

The Oyamel (Abies religiosa) is an emblematic tree of Mexico's mountains. It grows at high altitudes and plays a fundamental role in capturing water, conserving soil, and balancing ecosystems. It is also home to a variety of wildlife species and helps mitigate the effects of climate change. However, it faces challenges such as forest pests, deforestation, and the pressure of climate change, which makes planting and caring for it a priority.

The reforestation day

The event brought together our team members, staff, and the local community, who joined forces with enthusiasm and dedication. The day included preparing the land, planting the seedlings, and the technical support needed to ensure their survival.

Beyond planting trees, this gathering strengthened team spirit, let us share what we learned, and created meaningful memories that now become inspiration to keep working together for a greener future.

The importance of follow-up

At CAFIVER we understand that reforestation does not end when a tree is planted. That is why we follow the growth and care of each tree to ensure it reaches adulthood and fulfills its role in the ecosystem. This includes periodic monitoring, maintenance, and preventive measures against pests or adverse conditions.
